In the last general conference, Neil L. Anderson quoted a Christian blogger named Rachel Jankovic. "Motherhood is not a hobby, it is a calling," she writes. "You do not collect children because you find them cuter than stamps. It is not something to do if you can squeeze the time in. It is what God gave you time for." It is what God gave me time for! :)
Lately, this thought has been getting me through the tough times, and there have been plenty. I've come to terms with the fact that being a homemaker, a wife, and a mother is really hard work. It isn't always rainbows and sunshine as I like to imagine. But I can't think of anything more gratifying or fulfilling. It is the most important work I could be doing, and I love it, hard times and all.
(Also, my kids happen to be much cuter than stamps!) :D
